- Description: 'I do not approach a painting with any pre-conceived idea, but allow the activity of painting to produce combinations of colours and forms which appeal to me and subsequently the viewer.'
'Lindsay Moverley was a gentle and unassuming man who loved life, people and painting. His laughter, spontaneity and delight in the company of others were at the heart of the paintings he produced. When writing about Lindsay's work it seems that his very personality can be seen and felt in the marks he made and his uplifting choice of colour. It it hard to describe the paintings without a feeling we are describing the man.
Lindsay was influenced by the colourful works of artists like Kandinsky, Matisse and Bonnnard, he brought to each painting a feeling of the moment, a personal style and an exuberance of colour and brush mark'. Words written by a friend of Moverley's who was a fellow artist. - Dimensions: 50cm H x 58cm W
