- Description: In the early 1970s, Norman Ackroyd was commissioned to create some work for the Albany Hotel in Glasgow. During a series of journeys the artist made up the east coast of Britain to John O‘Groats, and then down the west, he drew directly onto prepared zinc plates (26in x 22.9in) which were then worked up in his studio.
The resulting mural of prints at the Albany Hotel (which has since been demolished) consisted of 48 plates, etched with nitric acid and perchloride of iron, created in two batches during April and July 1972. A limited edition of 10 plates was subsequently selected and published by the artist in conjunction with the Compass Gallery, Glasgow in January 1973. - Dimensions: Framed 80 cm H x 73cm W
