- Description: One of a series of four works purchased from the artist during her period as Artist in Residence, looking at and responding to the Norman McLaren Archive held by the University, and specifically exploring his pioneering innovations with sound and image.
The Artist says:
McLaren's interest in visual translation of music extended to drawings. He created some incredible pastel musical scores and 6 different drawings of musical form. I have frequently used drawing to represent music and during the residency made four woodcut graphic scores which I printed on the University's iconic Columbian Press, part of 'The Pathfoot Press'.
