- Description: This painting meant a lot to McLaren. It is a record of a real event ‘ when he discovered a dead turkey that he had bought at the butchers had been eaten by rats. Violence was abhorrent to McLaren and he identified with birds. Perhaps on some deep level, the event fitted into that context. Apparently when remembering this event, he shivered at the memory.
