- Description: The University of Stirling holds over 30 works by Willie Rodger. In 2007 the University hosted an exhibition of works by Willie Rodger and his family. Although best known for his printed artworks, since retiring from teaching art in 1987 he has increasingly developed painted works such as this one. The common thread though his work is humorous observations of life. Liz Lochead wrote a poem ‘The Art of Willie Rodger‘, which celebrates his work and includes the lines ‘is essential essentially‘.with perfect and perfected economy‘ which captures the simplicity and wit of his works.
