- Description: This watercolour shows a design for a book worked on during Fergusson's last months in France prior to the outbreak of war and his move to London in 1914. This decorative notation of forms reflect his interest in the decorative arts and especially in illustration work. By this date he had been art editor for 'Rhythm', John Middleton Murry's literary periodical. This drawing has a linear delicacy and overall design cohesion of the kind which Fergusson would class as Celtic.
