- Description: During the Second World War, Elizabeth Blackadder was sent to stay with her maternal grandmother in Kilmun in Argyll, and during this time, a local minister lent her books to read. On his death she was allowed to choose from his library, selecting a botanical work, Flowers of the Field. Back in her home town of Falkirk after the war, she collected and pressed flowers from along the Union Canal and studied Higher Botany at school.
Blackadder returned to flower painting when accompanying her husband John Houston on his fishing trips in the 1970s. - Dimensions: Paper: 60 cm (H) x 45 cm (W) Framed: 84cm H x 66cm W
