- Description: This is one of a series of designs for a pack of Scottish Historical Playing Cards, designed in the mid 1970s. They were commissioned by the Stirling Gallery, owned by Angus Ogilvy, one of the University's first alumni. Each of the character cards in the pack is a figure significant to Scottish history.
Bonnie Prince Charlie (1721-1788) is Jack of Hearts within this set of cards (the King is James VI and the Queen Mary, Queen of Scots).
'Bonnie Prince Charlie, the last of the Stuart losers; most loved, most reckless, he had the family's "fair and fatal charm". The loyalty of his supporters has gilded the memory of a rash gambler.'
