Alexander III (ruled 1249-85) is the King of Clubs in this set. The Queen is Margaret, Maid of Norway, and the Jack is Robert the Bruce.
'Scotland's "peaceable king" gave the country its golden middle age. He defeated the Vikings and married off his daughter to Eric Magnusson, King of Norway. His sons died and the Guardians of Scotland proclaimed his grand-daughter Queen.'
