Cataloguing the Stirling Royal Infirmary Nurses’ League magazines

Background information: The Stirling Royal Infirmary formed its Nurses’ League in the 1940s to connect past and present members of nursing staff who had trained at the hospital and spent many years there before dispersing. The annual magazines of the Nurses’ League printed letters from members far and wide, reported on conferences and updates in medicine, listed births, death and marriages and included photographs and interest pieces relating to Stirling Royal Infirmary. Owing to the practise of printing a full list of members in each issue, the Royal College of Nursing’s History of Nursing Forum identified Nurses’ League magazines as invaluable in tracing British nurses.
