Alloa Burns Club Project

A collaborative project with Clackmannanshire Council Archives to digitise the archives of the Alloa Burns Club (February 2022 – March 2023)

A collaborative project between the Alloa Burns Club, Clackmannanshire Council Archives and the University of Stirling Archives which catalogued and digitised the minutes and papers of the Club, which date back to 1849. The digitisation was carried out using the university’s new ScanStudio. Following digitisation the physical documents were transferred to Clackmannanshire Council Archives for permanent storage while the digitised content was made available online via the University Archives Culture on Campus website.

The project provided practical experience for a student on the ARTU9W4 Putting Arts and Humanities to Work module. It also supports the aims of our new #StirScanStudio to support the opening up of heritage across the Forth Valley region.
