William Wright (1937 – )
View all Artists- Biography: Born in Australia, William Wright attended the National Art School, Sydney (1954-1958) followed by a year studying in Florence at the Accademia di Belle Arti. He then moved to London, studying printmaking at the Central School of Art and Design and at Goldsmiths. He exhibited several times in Edinburgh during the 1960s, supported by Richard Demarco. In 1970 he became Head of Department of Painting, Winchester School of Art, and in 1976 moved to New York, then in 1981 returned to Australia where he was a noted art curator and writer.
