  • Biography: Born in Yorkshire, Margaret Kaye studied at Croydon School of Art and later at the Royal College of Art where she concentrated on stained-glass and needlework.
    In her professional career in glass she executed commissions for many windows including in Chichester and York and also restorations for the National Trust. In textiles, she also established a highly personal and individual style in the making of hangings for domestic interiors. The Victoria and Albert Museum have four pieces in their collection and one of her major commissions was that for the Queen’s personal gift to the cathedral in Accra, Ghana. During the 1940s she also became a painter.
