Brian Hartley
View all Artists- Biography: Brian Hartley is a Glasgow based artist with a multi-disciplinary practice, incorporating visual art, photography, videography, graphic design, design for stage and participatory work. Through his company Stillmotion he has created collaborative performance work including Scotch Hoppers for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games cultural programme in 2014 and a dance performance for families, We Dance, wee groove, that toured internationally between 2008 – 2019.
He studied at Glasgow School of Art and has exhibited his visual artwork nationally and internationally.
A long running interest has been working with dance, exploring representation of movement in different media, and he has worked as a photographer with dance and theatre companies in Scotland and across the UK. The three images in the University of Stirling Collection were created in 2012, with Australian dancer and choreographer Lina Limosani, and part of a Macrobert Art Centre project ,The Red Shoe Project, responding to a Creative Scotland initiative Get Scotland Dancing.
