  • Biography: A Polish-born painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and writer, Henryk Gotlib trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (1908-1910) and then at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna (1911-13) and the Munich Academy of Fine Art (1913-14).

    During the 1920s Gotlib lived and exhibited in Paris and was also art correspondent to the Warsaw Times. He met his wife in 1938 during a visit to London and settled in England, where he remained until his death.
