Martha Ellis

Biography: Born in Yorkshire, Martha Ellis studied at Leeds College of Art and Design before heading to London to complete her BA in Fine Art at Middlesex University. During her nine years teaching secondary school Art and Design, she started to experiment with laser technology. Setting up a studio in Edinburgh in 2018, Martha has worked full time on her art practice developing her signature ‘cut-out’ drawings. Creating wall mounted and sculptural pieces. She makes her work using a variety of methods, from using laser, Stanley knife and an electric jigsaw.
